When a video file is opened the first time,
EasySub will start scanning the sound data and the subtitle data.
The default process for this data scanning is the following steps
in succession.
- popup the data scan window;
- scan the audio data and calculate the waveforms;
- scan the subtitle data; and
- close the data scan window.
Those steps are better illustrated by the example below.
1. popup the data scan window.
Please note that the default selection for the checkbox
Start the scan at opening.
is checked.
2. scan the audio data and calculate the waveforms.
As soon as the window pops up, the audio scan starts.
This will take several minutes for a one and a half hour
length movie.
3. scan the subtitle data.
At the completion of the audio scan,
the subtitle scan starts automatically.
This will take much less time compared to the audio scan.
4. close the data scan window.
As soon as both scans are completed,
the data scan window is closed.
Please note that a check sign is displayed on the left
to mark the success of the scan process.
You can stop the automatic close of the data scan window
by clearing the check mark for the selection of
Close the window when all scans are finished.
on the
Options: Video Player page.
You will interrupt the above default processing steps
whenever you press the Pause or the Stop buttons
during the scanning.
When a scanning is incomplete,
you can always come back via the
video player menu
entry of Scan audio and subtitle
to reopen the data scan window.
